Type of work: Check-in and check-out books, use computer catalog to search for items, shelve books and help process books. Time/Duration of service: once a month or every week. The volunteers currently serve on Sunday morning (9:30-12:30) once every 6 weeks. Type of person(s) needed: People who love books, are organized, like details and have some computer experience. Expectations: Be willing to serve Other information: Training will be provided. Type of work: Promote the library to our church family and to other churches in the community through advertising (i.e. Moultrie News, local web sites and promotional flyers) and other promotional campaigns. Coordinate and promote church events/ministries through promoting library resources that support those areas. Time/duration: Ongoing Type of person: Someone who is outgoing, enthusiastic, creative, who has good people skills and experience in promotion. Type of work: Plan and lead preschool story-times. Story-times include songs, finger-plays, flannel stories, reading books and a craft. Time/ Duration: Story-times last for 20-30 min., once a week. The sessions usually run 4-6 weeks. Ideally 4 times a year, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Type of person: Someone who loves kids and loves sharing books with them. Other information: Materials will be provided (i.e. Craft materials, flannel supplies, etc.). The library also has books with story-time ideas/plans. |
